Liezen District
Liezen is an administrative district in the province of Styria, Austria. It is by far the largest district in Austria.

The Styrian town of Liezen is the commercial and administrative center of the district of Liezen, just west of the Dachstein massif. A town of some 7,000 residents. It makes a good starting point for excursions to the Styrian parts of the Salzkammergut.

Visitors are also attracted to Liezen for the "Internationaler Wettbewerb für Violincello", a music competition. The event takes place every other year and attracts more than 100 performing artists from all over the world.
Lovers of music also come for the of the "Liezener Musikfrühling" (Liezener Music Spring festival) , a music festival with an interesting mix of Jazz, and Classical Music. There are also other music performances at the local "Ennstalhalle" conference center and the Kulturhaus (Palace of Culture) throughout the year.

Liezen occupies a prominent position in the Enns River Valley and therefore, has always played a crucial role in trade and transportation. The "East-West" routes of major railways and roads between Graz and Salzburg still run through Liezen.
The golf course of Liezen and Weißenbach are well kept. Fishing and hunting are common practices in the Enns valley.

The ski resort Riesneralm has slopes in all difficulties. The Riesneralm is a high altitude skiing area with long slopes. More than 25 km of slopes for all levels of ability, great deep snow slopes, 18 km of cross-country trails for beginners and experts, a 6 km long natural toboggan-run from the Mörsbachalm and many other leisure time facilities are available.

The Planneralm is the highest ski village in Styria (1.600 to 2.200 m) and winter sport still means a joyful experience of nature's beauty. It is one of the few ski resorts that can rely on natural snow from the beginning of December to the end of April without preparing the pistes with snow making equipment. The slopes in the ski area range from easy to difficult and are well-groomed.

Schladming is a small former mining town that now is very popular with tourists. It has become a large winter sports resort and has held various skiing competitions recently, including most notably the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 2013. The shopping area has many cafes, restaurants and a variety of shops that cater to tourists.

Bad Aussee
Bad Aussee is a town in the Austrian state of Styria, located at the meeting of the three sources of the Traun River in the Ausseerland region. Bad Aussee serves as the economic and cultural center of the Styrian part of the Salzkammergut lakes region. With a population of 5,086, the town is said to be the geographical midpoint of Austria, symbolized by a stone monument in the center of the town.

The Gesäuse National Park Alpine Region
The Gesäuse National Park is a national park in Styria. Located in the mountainous Upper Styrian region, it covers large parts of the Gesäuse range within the Ennstal Alps. The Gesäuse is a steep water gap of the Enns river between Admont and Hieflau.
Gesäuse can be translated as whooshing, swishing, rushing – the named after the sound if the Enns rapids in the watergap.

Almost all of the park's land is owned by the Styrian Forest Administration.

Characteristics of the park are its steep mountains with bare cliffs - an opportunity for rock climbing - the Gesäuse gorge of the Enns between the entry point and Hieflau.
The altitude of the National Park Gesäuse ranges between 490 meters and 2370 meters, the summit of the Hochtor.
The park offers good hiking opportunities and its highlights are far less crowded than the other Alpine national parks.
The park also includes parts of the Johnsbach, Weng, Landl and Sankt Gallen municipalities.
The national park currently covers 125 km².
The Enns Valley (Gesäuse), is Austria's newest national park. Gorges, torrents, beautiful hiking trails, wonderful mountain pastures and climbing await you along with the Styrian Eisenwurzen Nature Park and Austria's largest GeoPark.

Outdoor camps on the Enns and Salza rivers offer adventures with kayaking, rafting and high-wire parks. Just as popular are the St. Gallen Water Fun Park and the archery course in Palfau.
The Kaiserau is a small but perfect ski resort. Hall is one of 15 recommended locations certified with a seal of quality is to be recommended to cross-country skiers.
For bookworms and history buffs, an excursion to Admont Abbey and the world's largest monastic library is compulsory.
